The Porsche Macan is a luxury crossover SUV that has been in production since 2014. The Macan operates on a front-engine, all-wheel-drive platform. The Macan has only experienced one generation of models but received updates in both 2016 and 2019. The 2019 Porsche Macan is a redesign of the 2018 Porsche Macan. As a result of the restructuring, the 2019 Porsche Macan provides a variety of new features. Porsche redesigned the Macan from the inside-out offering the 2019 Macan with new engines, engine components, interior features, and safety features to name a few. The 2018 Porsche Macan is available in five different trims, and the 2019 Porsche Macan is available in only two trims. While the 2018 Porsche Macan remains a great vehicle, the 2019 Porsche Macan has been redesigned to be much more functional and capable.


The 2019 Porsche Macan is powered by an inline-four engine that produces 252 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has rated this 2.0-liter engine of the 2019 Macan for 20 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. The engine connects power to the all-wheel-drive platform through a 7-speed PDK transmission. The 2018 Porsche Macan features two different engine layouts, a 2.0-liter engine, and a 3.0-liter engine. The 2.0-liter inline-four engine in the 2018 Macan produces 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The larger 3.0-liter V6 engine produces a minimum of 340 horsepower to a maximum of 440 horsepower depending on the Macan trim that a customer chooses. Much like the 2019 Porsche Macan, the engines of the 2018 Macan are connected to a 7-speed PDK transmission.


The appearance of the 2019 Porsche Macan has been refreshed from 2018. Porsche increased the width of the Macan while including LED headlights as a standard feature on all trims. Much like the 2019 Porsche Panamera, the 2019 Porsche Macan utilizes an LED taillight that spans the length of the tailgate. While the face of the 2018 Porsche Macan looks elegant, the 2019 Macan received a bumper update in addition to a freshly designed grille.


The 2019 Porsche Macan is home to several features that aren't included with the 2018 Porsche Macan. Audio in the 2019 Macan comes out through 10 speakers as opposed to the 8 speaker system in the 2018 Macan. Additionally, the touchscreen display of the 2019 Macan was upgraded from a 7-inch to a 10.9-inch display. The new Macan also offers Porsche's Traffic Jam Assist system.
