If you are trying to decide between the 2019 and 2020 Porsche Cayenne, you need to be aware of their differences. While the 2019 and 2020 Cayenne versions are a part of the line’s third generation with standout qualities.

The Cayenne was the first Porsche vehicle to have a 4-door design, and it notably retained the stellar performance abilities that the line is known for. This midsize luxury crossover SUV is offered in five trims for both of these model years, and the powertrain and mechanical equipment across all trims are unchanged. The base Cayenne trim comes with a turbocharged V6, a 3.0-liter gas engine that generates 335 horsepower. This engine is also included in the Cayenne E-Hybrid for 2019 and 2020, and it is paired with a battery-powered motor to produce 451 total horsepower. If you step up to the Cayenne S for 2019 or 2020, your SUV will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged V6, a 2.9-liter gas engine that generates 434 horsepower. The most powerful gas engine is found in the Cayenne Turbo. This is a twin-turbocharged V8, 4.0-liter engine that puts off 541 horsepower. The Turbo S E-Hybrid mates this powertrain with an electric motor to provide you with 670 total horsepower.

The 2019 and 2020 Porsche Cayenne are almost identical throughout the exterior at first glance, but closer inspection reveals that the 2020 model is more extensive and has greater curvature across the roof. For both versions, the Cayenne’s style is defined by robust and rounded curves and a sharp angle through the hood. The hood is flanked by powerful shoulders that house the rounded LED headlights. The grille rounds across the entire width of the nose and comes with a horizontal bar design. Other equipment on the Cayenne’s exterior includes powered side mirrors, a power-operated liftgate with remote access, remote door entry, a panoramic sunroof, and other items.

The interior design and features for the Cayenne are comparable for the 2019 and 2020 versions. The cabin includes seating for four with standard equipment, and some trims are available with seating for five with an optional bench seat. The overall feel of the interior is sporty thanks to a cockpit-like dashboard. Features that you can have access to in the Cayenne include an advanced auto climate control system, smartphone integration technology, remote access with the Porsche Connect app, heating and memory functions for the front row, mounted features on the sport steering wheel, a communication management system, a color 12-inch display screen for the navigation system and more.
