2022 Porsche 911 vs 2021 Porsche 911

Serving North Bethesda, MD

In 1964, the auto industry was forever changed when the Porsche 911 was offered for sale for the first time. This premium sports car had iconic class and astounding capabilities at the time, and it has retained these traits through its eight generational advancements. The most recent group debuted in 2020, so both the 2021 and 2022 versions are in the same generation. However, these two exciting options have notable differences that may sway your selection. What should you know about the 2021 and 2022 Porsche 911 sports cars before you finalize your buying plans?

You will have plenty of trim options and powertrains to choose from as you prepare to make your selection. The 2021 Porsche 911 has four powertrains across eight trim levels. The entry-level powertrain is a 379-horsepower, 3.0-liter V6 engine. The dominant powertrain is a V6, 640-horsepower engine. In the 2022 model year, these trim levels and engines are unchanged, and two new options are also available. The 2022 Porsche 911 GTS comes with a V6, 3.0-liter, 473-horsepower engine. The 2022 911 GT3 has a 4.0-liter V6, 502-horsepower engine.

If you are comparing the 2021 Porsche 911 to the 2022 version, you will have a hard time finding the difference between the two. The exception is if you look at the GTS and GT3 trim levels. As new options, these introduce a few badging elements to the mix. Otherwise, the 911 continues to have the same pointed nose, smooth surfaces, and round headlights that it is known for. It also comes with a light bar that runs underneath the spoiler, large exhaust finishers, and an air intake port near the rear wheels.

The other notable difference between the 2022 and 2021 Porsche 911 cars is found inside the cabin. For 2022, the 911’s smart device tech interface has been modernized. Some or all trim levels for both model years are available with a surround-view camera system, ambient lighting, a sunroof, premium cabin materials, a Bose sound system, and other desired features.
