In a hotly debated move (at least among Porsche purists) the new 2017 Porsche 911 has been outfitted with a smaller 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine, replacing the 3.4- and 3.8-liter engines in the outgoing model, and paired with twin turbochargers that are two millimeters larger and deliver a substantial boost. CNET recently got behind the wheel.

In fact, the base 911 for 2017 delivers 365 horsepower, versus 345 horsepower for last year's model. Choosing the 911 gets you 414 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. In a sports car of this svelte size, that is substantial.

Inside the cockpit, the in-dash infotainment system gets a big upgrade. The newly-named Porsche Communication Management system features a seven-inch, capacitive, multi-touch display, along with Google Earth integration. Also new is Apple CarPlay.

Our experienced sales team at Porsche of Rockville is ready to answer all your questions about the new 911. Stop by our showroom today or call (800) 926-1844 to schedule a test drive.
